Free storage gives you planning time, not extra return time
Hipobuy's official Order Status Display says items in Stored status have 90 days of free warehouse storage. That can help when purchases from different sellers arrive on different dates and you want to ship them together. It does not mean you can postpone every decision for three months. The official Returns and Refunds notice gives eligible products a separate five-day application window after they become Warehoused. The two periods serve different purposes: one covers holding an item, the other may limit a request to send it back to the seller.
The useful way to think about storage is as a working calendar. Mark the date each agent order reaches the warehouse, inspect its QC material promptly and decide whether it belongs in your next parcel. Do not start the calendar when you first saved a spreadsheet link. A seller may take time to dispatch, and Hipobuy's Order Status Display distinguishes the item being ordered, sent locally, arrived for inspection and stored. Only your own order timeline can show its relevant warehouse dates.
Build a manifest before making a parcel
A parcel is a choice to group particular stored items for one international shipment. Create a small manifest with agent order ID, seller, product, size or colour, warehouse status, QC decision and intended parcel. If you have several similar shirts, include enough variant detail to identify each. A manifest is especially useful if a return request or size clarification is still open. Never put an unresolved item into a parcel merely because the other items are ready.
| Record | What to save | Decision it supports |
|---|---|---|
| Item order | Seller URL, variant and agent ID | Confirm which item reached the warehouse |
| Warehouse review | Arrival date and QC evidence | Keep, clarify or request a return |
| Parcel plan | Items sharing destination and address | Decide what to combine |
| Packing result | Final weight, dimensions and route | Approve the actual freight charge |
| Delivery file | Parcel ID and tracking events | Check the received contents later |
Hipobuy's home page describes combining items after the warehouse stage and selecting a logistics provider for international transport. This supports consolidation as a workflow, not a universal saving. Combining two items may reduce repeated packing or parcel charges in some circumstances, but a bulkier carton may change billable weight or eligible shipping lines. Treat “combined is cheaper” as a hypothesis to test with the current quotes for your own basket.
Compare packaging options as trade-offs
A shoe box, bulky jacket and small accessory occupy very different amounts of space. Removing a retail box might reduce size but also remove protection or change how you want the product delivered. Additional reinforcement might help a fragile item while increasing weight or dimensions. The right decision depends on the goods, the options the warehouse actually offers and the rules of the chosen shipping route. Do not instruct an agent to remove packaging that affects a seller's return condition while the return decision is unresolved.
Hipobuy's official Shipping Estimate asks for destination and grams, with optional product type and length, width and height in centimetres. It is useful when deciding whether a basket is financially realistic. It is not a measured quote for a package that does not yet exist. Once the warehouse completes packing, compare the actual figures with your original assumptions. Ask which route accepts the contents and whether its charge depends on physical or dimensional weight. Avoid a fixed divisor or price-per-kilogram claim unless it comes from the currently selected line.
The final charge can diverge from the first estimate
The official Order Status Display calls Waiting for Packing the stage when a paid international parcel is being packed and weighed. It describes Waiting for Confirmation as a possible request for additional shipping payment because actual package weight exceeded the estimated weight. That is a specific reminder to review the packed parcel. Check the final weight, dimensions, selected line, amount already paid and difference requested. A higher price is not proof of an error by itself, and a lower initial calculator result is not the final invoice.
Record the explanation for any change. Perhaps the items came with retail boxes you expected to remove; perhaps the parcel dimensions were larger than your estimate. Only the real record tells you. If the discrepancy is unclear, ask the platform before confirming payment. Once an international parcel has been submitted, individual item returns may no longer follow the same warehouse process, so this is also a sensible last moment to confirm the QC decisions.
Work backward from the storage deadline
Suppose a jacket reaches Stored status first and shoes follow later. Review the jacket's photos as soon as they are available, even if you intend to wait for the shoes. Decide whether it is returnable before the applicable short request window ends. Put the jacket's storage date in your manifest, then watch the shoes' own arrival and inspection. If their delivery to the warehouse is delayed, choose whether waiting still leaves enough time to submit the jacket in a parcel during its valid storage period. Do not silently assume both orders share one clock.
A second scenario involves a product with a missing accessory or unclear size label. Keep it out of the parcel while seeking a specific photo or explanation. Consolidation is a later operation, not a cure for missing evidence. The fastest way to save effort is to resolve the physical item question before sealing it in an international shipment.
Keep destination rules in the decision
The official International Parcel Delivery Agreement says goods are declared according to their actual value, and a self-declaration request must be raised with support before sealing. It also says shipping rates and timeframes can change. Hipobuy's Customs and Taxation page warns of destination risks and product restrictions. A very large or mixed-content parcel may raise questions about allowed routes or local import procedures. This is not a reason to invent a tax-free “sweet spot”; it is a reason to check the current line rules and destination requirements for the actual goods.
Insurance choices also depend on what you send and how it is packed. The official compensation notice lists conditions and exclusions. If protection matters to you, keep proof of contents and value and read the terms associated with your route before paying. The existence of a free or paid insurance label does not mean every damage claim is covered.
A simple weekly review
Once a week while items are stored, check which orders have reached the warehouse, which QC decisions are unresolved, which return windows might still be open, and which items are earmarked for the next parcel. Update the manifest when a seller link or product variant was corrected. When every included item has a clear decision, request the actual packing plan and choose a route using current prices. Save the final parcel ID next to its component orders.
Ninety days can make a multi-seller order manageable, but only if you use the time deliberately. Storage is for planning a suitable shipment; inspection and return eligibility need their own, earlier attention. The spreadsheet and manifest help preserve that distinction from the first product link to the parcel you eventually receive.
